This was a Warner Brothers picture, co-starring this young actor names Brandon Lee, whose father, Bruce Lee I'd seen in the movies when I was a kid. Brandon was a martial artist. He was very motivated and worked out with me and my instructor who is a 6 degree black belt from England, Brian Fitkin.
Brandon was a really nice guy, I got along very well with him, unfortunately he was killed a few years later on a picture. I felt personally very sad about that because I liked him very much, and I think he had become a very big star.
There where some good sword fight scenes in the picture. We had a sword instructor form Japan. I remember we used replica swords during the fights, but but there was one scene, where I had to cut through these bundles of bamboo in the picture and of course to do this on film, we had to use the real sword. The sword is heavy, so of course if you swing it full power you can cut through almost anything. A human body for sure. In front of the whole crew, just to show people what we are dealing with, the Japanese sword master got a piece of paper out, and turned the sword upside down with the edge facing up and he dropped the paper on the edge, and it cut itself into two! Which shows how sharp that sword was! It was like holding a loaded gun.
Also I was fortunate enough to do this hot tub scene with “Cassandra” from “Wayne's World”. This is Tia Carrera, before she became Cassandra. I'm quite proud of that!"
